Just two years ago, we launched BEARNATION.us as an alternative to other Bear websites. Like you, I was tired of paying high subscription fees for a site that didn't meet my needs. BEARNATION.us was built with its members in mind – a true on-line community -- and every improvement we've made along the way has been in response to your comments and ideas.
Today, two years later, the site has grown beyond our wildest dreams. Our old-school competitors thought we wouldn't last a year, but thanks to you, they were wrong. We are growing and improving every day – with more than 10,000 members and a broad array of new features and functionality.
BEARNATION.us continues to be recognized for innovation and member satisfaction, which is why we were voted Best Bear Website (2008 and 2009) and Best Bear Resource (2009) in The Complete Bear's "Best of the Bears" competition.
So now it's time for this Cub to become a full-grown Bear. There are changes on the horizon for BEARNATION.us – and we want you to be a part of them. For more than two years, our members have enjoyed BEARNATION.us at no cost. We've been able to sustain the site with help from our advertisers and lots of volunteer time spent programming and designing. We want to continue to provide you with a world-class site you expect and deserve, but to do so, the time has come to shift to a subscription based service.
Don't worry: We're committed to keeping our rates much lower than our competitors – still offering you more of the best for less. In fact, these nominal fees will help us improve BEARNATION.us even more. Coming up in 2010-11:
- A complete site update to version 5.0, with new killer features and faster performance.
- Enhanced privacy features – including the ability to go "invisible."
- Upgrade to a faster server for boosts in speed and responsiveness.
- Additional off-line events with entry into the mobile space and much more...
We want you to stick around to enjoy these and other site improvements. So all members will need to subscribe to one of our extremely reasonable packages to access everything that BEARNATION.us has to offer. That's still much less than you will pay on those "other" Bear sites.
